Two of the three boats damaged in separate blow-over accidents at the Gold Cup are undergoing repairs in the Seattle area and are expected to be ready for the Lamb-Weston Columbia Cup in the Tri-Cities July 27-29.

The third boat damaged, the 22 Great Scott! Presents Matrix Systems was declared out for the rest of the season after being returned to its home in Reading, Pennsylvania. Webster Racing says the boat will undergo a repair/remodel in time for the 2013 season.

In the Edmonds, Washington home of the 11 Miss Peters & May – owner/crew chief Scott Raney reports repairs to the team’s boat are proceeding pretty much on schedule and the team will be in the Tri-Cities in time for the Friday testing and qualifying for the Lamb-Weston Columbia Cup.

“There was a lot of damage and we have work to do,” said Raney.  “But we haven’t found any major problems we didn’t anticipate so we are doing okay.”

Meanwhile, South of Seattle in the Tukwila facility used by the USA Racing Partners – Matt Gregory says repairs are going well on the 88 Degree Men.

Gregory told us, “Damage to the hull was really pretty minor but we have some work to do on the electrical  system and some other parts of the boat.  But it’s going well and we’ll see you in the Tri-Cities.”

The Lamb-Weston Columbia Cup begins with testing and qualifying on Friday with racing on Saturday and Sunday.
