Injury Sidelines JW Myers
The U-11 Unlimited Racing Group, Miss Peters & May announced that JW Myers is stepping down from his position as driver due to an injury. JW Myers, Co-Owner and Driver of the U-11, suffered a shoulder injury in the blow over accident at the Gold Cup in Detroit in July. Myers said, “My shoulder has been sore ever since this year’s Detroit accident. After a few visits to the doctor, and what we hoped to be a few weeks of taking it easy and allowing some healing time, it has become clear the injury to my shoulder needs to be addressed before it gets worse.”
Scott Raney, Co-Owner and Crew Chief said, “Loosing JW’s ability to drive competitively due to this midseason injury has been hard for this team. We were hopeful that he could make a quick recovery but the injury is more serious than we anticipated.”
Team Owners, Scott Raney, Shannon Raney, and JW Myers discussed a variety of options for the team at length, deciding that a search would be launched for a new driver immediately. Dave Holley, CEO of Peters & May and Sponsor of the U-11 team, said “I’m sorry that JW is unable to continue as our driver. He has been an asset to the team and a good spokesman for Peters & May.”
A comprehensive search for a new driver has already begun. The U-11 Miss Peter’s & May team will make an announcement prior to the race in San Diego in September.
