HydroTown Reorganized & Rebranded With Big Plans For 2025 Season

Pasco, WA February 25 – When American Boat Racing Association was revamped in 2023, HydroTown LLC was founded by Darrell Strong and three partners acquiring all ABRA rights to media and race site development.  ABRA, operating as H1 Unlimited, was retained as the group governing all race activities and personnel including racing rules, referees, rescue staff and equipment such as the “tech truck”, rescue sled, staff radios and buoys. H1 was organized under a separate five-member board of directors, including chairman Mike Denslow, Darrell Strong, two other team owners, and long-time voice of H1 Unlimited Brad Luce.

Under Strong’s leadership HydroTown set out to make significant improvements in operations and has secured multi-year contracts with all existing race sites while developing solid relationships with potential new sites and other racing classes.

On the media side, HydroTown funded the restructuring and upgrading of equipment for livestream coverage.  The 2024 season saw a significant uptick in viewership due to the heroic efforts of a small and dedicated media team.

In January 2025 HydroTown LLC was dissolved and a new entity, HydroTown Racing, was incorporated with Darrell Strong being the principal governor and sole shareholder.  Future plans include the possibility of including additional shareholders as the unlimited hydroplane racing sport evolves, generating increased interest.

Livestream coverage is a high priority going forward and the 2025 season will see exciting improvements.  HydroTown Racing has contracted with Two-Plank Productions for 2025, bringing in a producer with extensive extreme motorsports background and direct connections with major streaming and broadcast networks.  Freelance livestream staff are joining the existing team, including two drone pilots and technical broadcast specialists.

As part of this effort, a broadcast production trailer was recently acquired and is being outfitted with state-of-the-art broadcast equipment including satellite internet.  Coverage will be wall-to-wall five to six hours each race day. Viewers can look forward to more drone coverage, more live interviews with drivers and crew members, race team profiles, and live candid interviews with fans at the races.  All in all, this represents a substantial six-figure investment in livestream coverage for the 2025 season.
