U-21 Miss Albert Lee driver Brian Perkins has been selected as the recipient of the series' first "Light It Up" award presented by Streamlight.
The award recognizes an individual who is responsible for one of the brightest moments of the weekend of racing.
In announcing the award, H1 Unlimited Chariman Sam Cole said, "The moment we had in mind was the start of Heat 1A. In his first start ever in a brand new ride, Brian made a perfect start at full throttle. We had nine heat starts at the Lucas Oil Indiana Governor's Cup, and none were any better than that one."
Streamlight will present the award following each event in the 2010 H1 Unlimited Series.

MADISON, Ind. -- The Miss Madison/Oh Boy! Oberto bobbed in the Ohio River, a quiet moment before becoming the pride of a community once more.

Three crew members hunched over the boat's cockpit and strapped driver Steve David into his seat. It was 10:18 a.m. Friday, the opening minutes of the first Madison Regatta testing session.
David gripped the wheel of the world's only community-owned hydroplane and waited to ignite his machine.
Sixteen minutes later, an official stood on a wooden deck and turned toward the Miss Madison team.
"Let's get at it," he said.

Steve David drove the U-1 Oh Boy! Oberto to an impressive victory from lane 2 in the championshp heat of the 2010 Lucas Oil Indiana Governor's Cup.
David came off the first corner between JW Myers in the U-37 Miss Peters & May and J Michael Kelly in the U-7 and then moved out to a lead he would not reliniquish.

Defending Madison Regatta Champion Dave Villwock was happy with the performance of his newly named and numbered U-96 Spirit of Qatar, in spite of qualifying second to Steve David in the U-1 Oh Boy Oberto.
Villwock recorded a 153.152 to David's 154.575. in 2009, Villwock was top qualifier and ran the table in heat racing, including the championship final.
"Over all we had a good day," said Villwock." We had some first day electrical issues that kept us
from running more laps but, in the 11th hour, we pulled a rabbit out of the
hat. The boat ride is great and I think we'll race even better than we
qualified. It should be a good weekend."
