The community owned Oh Boy! Oberto race team claimed first-place honors in the National High Point's championship for the second year in a row in 2009.
The only piston-powered boat on the circuit, the U-3 has every kid on
the shore protecting his or her ears from the onslaught of turbocharged
Allison noise.
Ted Porter’s Formulaboats.com II hull will again have sponsorship from Graham Trucking of Seattle, with J Michael Kelly doin the driving for the second year.
The team plans to make two appearances in 2010, at the Lamb Weston
Columbia Cup in the Tri-Cities and Seattle's Seafair with David
Williams Driving. Although, there is a chance the team will run more events and attempt to qulify for the Oryx Cup UIM World Championship in November in Qatar.
Dave Bartush and the Spirit of Detroit will return to the H1 Unlimited
circuit in 2010 with veteran inboard driver Cal Phipps taking over the
driving duties.
With owner/driver Nate Brown sharing driving duties with nephew Kip Brown in 2009, the Our Gang Racing team scored a consistent 6th place in National High Points.
The team will retire their U-48 and U-50 numbers, campigning their new
hull as U-21 with sponsorship from Albert Lee Appliance of Seattle for
the Seattle and Tri-Cities races.
After a strong rookie season resulting in 2009 Rookie of the Year honors, the Webster Racing team looks to improve their setup for their sophomore season.
Schumacher Racing will have sponsorship from Peters & May, global marine logistics for 2010 and JW Myers will take over the driving from retired Jean Theoret.
Back to a full schedule in 2009, MISS E-LAM
PLUS placed second to OH BOY! OBERTO/MISS MADISON in National High Points for
the season but still won more races--three--than any other team.
With 17 victories under his belt as an Unlimited owner, Fred Leland is second
only to Erick Ellstrom (who has 20 wins) among active owners on the H1 Unlimited
circuit.
