The Ballard neighborhood of Seattle is home to Ellstrom Racing and the U-96
Spirit of Qatar.
After winning the 2010 APBA Gold Cup and UIM World Championship, but falling just short of the season high points title, Erick Ellstrom and his veteran crew and driver will again be a team to beat in the 2011 Air National Guard Series.
The only question hanging over the team is – at what point will Dave Villwock become the sport’s winningest all time driver – an honor he currently shares with the legendary Bill Muncey.
Don’t expect big changes from this team after an off season of routine maintenance. You can expect the white, blue and maroon Spirit of Qatar to assume its normal spot atop the qualifying and racing ladder at 2011 races.
