Jones Racing Adds Sponsors
The U-9 is starting to look like NASCAR on water, judging by the number of logos that they have accumulated for Seafair Weekend. Les Schwab is continuing to support for the season, and when you come into the pits you will definitely know that it is Les Schwab Country, because on Saturday the u-9 crew will be wearing trademark Les Schwab “bright white” service shirts and looking sharp for the cameras. Store manager, Dave McAllister. states, “We love supporting a local team on the rise in the community we serve. That is what Les Schwab is all about.” Les Schwab and Seafair will also be hosting a group of kids from Community in Schools Seattle on Friday down in the pits to support our new boat racing fans coming into the sport.
Look for the distinctive AT&T globe on the tail fins, because AT&T has joined the U-9 Jones Racing team as well. “AT&T is excited to continue to support great community traditions and both Seafair and Hydroplane racing are definitely strong traditions for Seattle” said Mike Maxwell, vice president and general manager AT&T, Pacific Northwest. “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor the U-9 Racing team this Seafair weekend and wish all the drivers the best on Lake Washington.”
Seafair, is all about summer in Seattle and it just seems like a match made in heaven for Seattle Sun Tan to be the presenting sponsor for the U-9 hydroplane. C.E.O. Scott Swerland remarked, “Having been an avid Seafair Supporter for longer than I can to say, ( First visit to the log boom in the 70’s.) when I got the call from a fellow Mercer Island schoolmate, it was hard to say no. Seafair is all about fun, community and getting a tan!” Do you love their products and services or tan at a different place? Stop by on Saturday or Sunday, ask for a hero card and you may get a special treat. (As supplies last so act fast!)
Finally, this update would not be complete without recognizing our title sponsor Sound Propeller Services Inc. After meeting them in Tri Cities, you can tell why they are one of the best in the Propeller Manufacturing Industry. They have passion for details, act as a team and know how to have fun! We were all extremely impressed when they all showed up in professionally embroidered maroon crew shirts, and asked detailed questions of driver Jon Zimmerman as he walked them through the race starting procedure. Make sure to say hi to them as you see those sharp maroon shirts in the pits.
Thank you to all of our sponsors! We have even more than what was mentioned here, and each one has played an integral in our success. Ready to have some fun? Make sure to cheer for the Miss Seattle Sun Tan Presents Miss Sound Propeller Services Inc this 2012 Seafair weekend!
