At The Shop – Leland Unlimited
In the Leland Unlimited shop in Kirkland, across Lake Washington from Seattle, owner Stacy Briseno is making a lot of changes as the team prepares to run the entire H1 Unlimited circuit in 2014.
The team will campaign the Leland 98-2 hull which finished the 2013 season after the Leland 98-1 blew over twice in races at Detroit and Tri-Cities.
David Warren will return as the team’s driver after finishing the 2013 season in the cockpit of the 100.
Changes to the hull itself are fairly minor and involve some weight distribution and work on the skid fin and bracket.
The team is well stocked with Leland gear boxes and will have three Lycoming T55 L7C turbines ready to play.
Briseno is in sponsorship discussions with potential sponsors and hopes to have one on board for the season’s first races in Madison and Detroit.
