Go3 Racing/Griggs Team Up For Columbia Cup
EVANSVILLE, IN— Ed Cooper announced on Friday that his Go3 Racing Team will be making its season debut on the 2016 H1 Unlimited circuit at the HAPO Columbia Cup at the Tri Cities (July 29-31).
“We’re excited to have Grigg’s Department Store and Ace Hardware partner with us as our sponsor for the 2nd straight year,” said Ed Cooper.
The only piston powered Unlimited Hydroplane will be known as the Griggs presents Miss Ace Hardware for the Tri Cities race, the 2nd stop on the H1 Unlimited tour.
“Without Charlie Grigg and his generous sponsorship of the Go3 team, we could not race in the Columbia Cup, as well as the rest of our sponsors” continued Cooper.
Also joining the team for Tri Cities with sponsorship of the Go3 Racing Team is 610 KONA News Radio, Basin Disposal and Tri Cities Insurance Professionals.
Gerald Tobias and Tri Cities Insurance Professionals are also returning as a sponsor the Evansville, Indiana based team.
Riding along with the Go3 Team as well with their sponsorship is Evans Marine, Paul Parish Limited, Whispering Turbines, Hardy Brake and Electric and the Buffalo Brothers.
Veteran racer Jimmy King returns to the drivers seat for his 7th season for Owner Ed Cooper.
King drove the U-3 to a 6th place finish in National High points in 2015. The teams best finish was 4th place at Seattle, narrowly missing standing on the podium.
The series fan favorite, known as the Turbinator, has gone thru a rigorous offseason maintainence program by the Go3 Team, and the hull that was built in 2002, will be stronger and faster than ever.
Cooper also has his World War II era Allison V-12 engines ready to roar on the Columbia River next weekend. These former fighter plane engines can produce up to 3000 horsepower.
Grigg’s Department Store and Tri Cities Ace Hardware have four locations in the Tri Cities area (Pasco, Kennewick and Richland).
