Shane is fastest on Friday in Seattle

SEATTLE — Jimmy Shane and the Miss HomeStreet turned in the fastest speed during the first qualifying session for the 2022 HomeStreet Bank Cup in Seattle, the season’s fourth stop in the H1 Unlimited Racing Series. Shane, 36, of San Antonio, Texas, circled the Lake Washington racecourse at an average of 153.539 mph.

The second fastest speed for the day was by Dave Villwock in Miss Beacon Plumbing at 151.076 mph. His boat flipped during the race last weekend in the Tri-Cities, Washington, and was repaired in time to compete in Seattle. The other qualifying speeds today were 148.594 mph by Jeff Bernard in Miss Goodman Real Estate, 144.589 mph by J. Michael Kelly in Boitano Homes, and 143.512 mph by Jamie Nilsen in Miss The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse.

Qualifying will continue tomorrow with another session and the boats will also compete in a new match-race format.
