GFTL Entry To Run As U-60 “The Beast Unleashed Presents Miss Thriftway”
Greg O’Farrell & his son Brian O’Farrell, owners of Go Fast Turn Left Racing, and Lakeridge Paving, Inc., are excited about the APBA Gold Cup coming back to Seattle, and debuting The Beast Unleashed Presents Miss Thriftway.
When Greg was 11 years old, he received the surprise of his young life. He got to meet the legendary Bill Muncey in the Stan Sayres Pits, and then was gifted an actual ride in the legendary Thriftway Too, sitting on the lap of the Hall of Fame driver, while touring Lake Washington around the Ted Jones Race Course.
“I will never forget those incredible memories. When I was presented the opportunity to feature a new Miss Thriftway Presented by The Beast Unleashed, at this year’s Seattle Seafair Gold Cup Presented by Beacon Plumbing, I was thrilled. Now, thanks to the great people at NW Beverages, and their newly released adult beverage, The Beast Unleashed, it is all finally coming together.”
O’Farrell’s newly finished, all carbon-fiber, composite unlimited hydroplane, will take to the Ted Jones Race Course, August 4th, 5th & 6th, as the U-60 The Beast Unleashed Presents Miss Thriftway. Gunnar O’Farrell will pilot the popular craft in his bid to claim the coveted APBA Gold Cup held in Seattle for the first time in 38 years.
“We are thrilled to be sponsoring this exciting team, and young Gunnar O’Farrell, while unleashing The Beast Unleashed at Seafair. Our new flavored, 6% alcohol beverage people will find satisfyingly refreshing with no added sugar or caffeine, just plain great taste in several delicious flavors.” said Director of Field Sales, Marcus Degroff.
“As a rookie driver this season, Gunnar will be honing his skills and getting comfortable in this very fast hydroplane. He posted a lap of over 161 mph in a testing session in Tri-Cities, and getting more familiar with the responsiveness of the boat. We expect him to be a little more conservative in the earlier Heats in Seattle, in trying to gather as many Heat Points he can to qualify for the winner-take-all APBA Gold Cup Final later that Sunday afternoon.”
Greg O’ Farrell added: “I wish to thank all the people with the brand, The Beast Unleashed, for stepping up to sponsor our dedicated team. This is exciting for us and we are all very appreciative. I also want to thank Chris Richardson with Graffix, Inc. for the amazing work he did striping the boat as the new Thriftway. Thank you also to Athletic Awards, Seafair, Bill Osborne and Continental Productions for their time and support.
