The goal, obviously, is to defend their titles in 2014.

Under the direction of team owner Ted Porter and crew chief Tom Anderson (from Seattle), the 1 Graham Trucking (T-6) is being prepared in detail – attention the hull hasn’t had in a couple of years – for the 2014 season.

With J. Michael Kelly returning to the team and ready to settle into the cockpit of the T-6, crew members Goober and Michael have been busy in the Porter Racing shop over the first full offseason in some time.

Goober and Michael have been diligently going over all aspects of the boat the boat in Decatur. It’s even expected that the 1 will have a new paint scheme in 2014, and it likely won’t be the vinyl wrap like the boat carried in each of the last three years.

The excitement goes all the way to the team’s sponsor, as Rob Graham of Graham Trucking extended his sponsorship of the team on November 8, 2013, shortly after Kelly was named as the team’s new driver and just six weeks after clinching “the 1” in San Diego in mid-September.

“In 26 years of sponsorship I have never been more confident in an ownership and crew,” Graham said in his extension announcement. “I would like to thank Ted Porter and his family for giving us the opportunity to be a small part of this amazing organization.”

Turbines

Turbine engines are ready.

The crew from 2013’s championship season remains intact, and the team’s outlook for 2014 is positive as they prepare to start the season battling for the home state’s Governor’s Cup in Madison.
