Centurion Racing Acquires 48 Hull
After weeks of speculation regarding the future of Centurion Racing, owners Jay Leckrone and Denise Garl have acquired the 48 hull from Greg and Brian O’Farrell’s GoFastTurnLeft Racing and announced plans to make the entire H1 Unlimited Circuit in 2014 with sponsorship from the DiJulio family.
GFTL ran the 48 hull in the Tri-Cities and Seattle races in 2014 with sponsorship from the Snoqualmie Casino. Leckrone and Garl plan to retain the striking blue and green paint scheme that was applied last season.
The DiJulio family sponsored Centurion’s 2013 entry, which was a boat leased from Dave Bartush of Detroit.
Leckrone had high praise for the DiJulios, who have entered into a two-year partnership, as well as Greg O’Farrell for making Centurion a deal which Leckrone described as a “real sweet deal which made the whole thing possible.”
Another key to the operation is the participation of Ken Muscatel, whose contribution of shop space, equipment and other support are critical elements in the team’s structure.
Veteran Unlimited driver Greg Hopp will be in the cockpit of Miss DiJulio in 2014.
