Unlimited Racing Group Is gbr11
The 2014 version of the U-11 Peters & May team will make its season debut in Evansville, Indiana on June 14th 2014 running with the colors of the Union Jack flag along with the popular chartreuse and blue.
The U-11 based out of Edmonds, Washington USA is sponsored by the Global Marine Transport leaders, Peters & May of Southampton, United Kingdom. The highly competitive sport of Unlimited Hydroplane Racing has seen continued fan growth internationally over the past four years. Peters & May CEO Dave Holley says that “With the 96 team flying the flag for the country of Qatar and our team gaining partnerships from additional UK based companies; the team felt the time was right to expand their international reach and proudly represent Great Britain by running as gbr11 for the entire H1 Unlimited Hydroplane racing season”
The U-11 team was able to travel to the Lake District of England and participate in the Coniston World Record Runs in 2012. “Running the boat in England for Peters & May was a huge honor” said co-owner Shannon Raney. “The people of the United Kingdom were very welcoming and we were able to introduce our sport to a whole new audience of excited fans.” While at the historical Coniston Records Week, the Peters & May U-11 team amazed a passionate new group of fans, which appropriately named themselves the “U-11 English fan club.” “We had members of that group join us in Doha, Qatar in January for the Oryx Cup World Championship and again in Seattle for the Seafair race in 2013,” according to Raney.
The gbr11 team has been working hard in the off season to improve the T4 hull and push for a top three position in the H1 season high points in 2014.
