Since 1961, Miss Madison, Incorporated has been led by seven legendary Crew Chiefs. Throughout those years, the performance of the team has continued to improve and the result is the consistent Championship-caliber team that fans are accustomed to seeing on the water.
One of the hallmarks of that improved performance has been the powerful turbine engines and reliable gearboxes that keep the team out front.
Miss Madison, Inc. is pleased to announce that Larry Hanson, the person responsible for those powertrains for the past 15 years has become the eighth Crew Chief of the Oberto / Miss Madison.
Hanson, from Auburn, Washington is overseeing the day-to-day activities in the Madison shop and leading the Crew on season prep. Larry is respected throughout the Unlimited racing community and his attention to detail will ensure that the Oberto / Miss Madison will remain the best-prepared hydro in the pit area.
The team begins its quest for a fifth Season Championship at the 2014 Lucas Oil Madison Indiana Governor’s Cup Regatta on July 4th, 5th & 6th.
“Miss Madison, Inc. is the oldest active team in Unlimited hydroplane racing. Miss Madison has competed every year since 1961 on the hydroplane circuit amassing 20 wins. Racing in partnership with American Speedy Printing, Jasper Engines & Transmissions, Valvoline, DeWalt Power Tools, Kellogg’s and Oberto, some of the biggest names in the sport of boat racing have raced with the Miss Madison Team”.
