Jimmy Shane to announce retirement
The Madison Courier reports that Jimmy Shane, the driver of the Miss HomeStreet in the Madison Racing Team, will officially announce his retirement at H1 Unlimited’s annual awards banquet on Saturday. Shane just completed a 2022 season where he won five races and earned the national championship for his race team and the driver’s national title.
With his race wins on the 2022 H1 Unlimited Racing Series, Shane will complete his career with 25 race victories. That number places him in a tie with Dean Chenoweth with the fourth most race wins by a driver in the sport’s history.
Shane’s national championship in 2022 also puts him among the sport’s all-time legends. The title was the seventh in his career, which places him in a tie with Chip Hanauer and Bill Muncey for the second most in the sport’s history.
